World Family Week

Following weeks of preparation and work by the pupils, staff, parents & parents council. World Family Week passed off as a huge success.
The purpose of the week was to raise intercultural awareness and nurture tolerance and appreciation for other cultures among all members of the community. The focus of the work at our school was to celebrate the great range of nationalities present within the school and to embrace the many different qualities each child brings to the school family.
Comprehensive studies of Australia, the Philippines, Iraq, Canada, Africa, United Kingdom, USA and Russia were beautifully displayed in our school hall.
We were delighted to see all our friends from the Donabate Community & beyond, the boys were especially delighted that so many parents & family came to visit the school on Tuesday to see their work. The news of our event even reached President Mary McAleese who sent us her warmest wishes for the day.

Tree Planting At Turvey

The boys from 4th class helped to plant over 2,000 oak, ash, alder and hazel trees on Fingal County Council-owned lands at Turvey.

The event was organised by the council's parks division in partnership with the Donabate Tidy Towns Group, Conservation Volunteers Ireland and Birdwatch Ireland. The school planting day was a great success and enjoyed by all the boys.

The Chess Club

The Chess Club continues every Monday from 2.45p.m. to 3.30p.m. in the School Hall.
Beginners welcome. Bring along a chess set if you have one. All queries to Joslin Ryan & Jean Culleton.
