Chamber of Commerce AGM

The AGM of Donabate and Portrane Chamber of Commerce took place in the new Donabate and Portrane Community Club on 7th April 2003. The meeting, which was supported by Aer Rianta, included apresentation by Aer Rianta, as well as a demonstration of this web site and the related editing tools.

Contributions for web site

Members of the Chamber of Commerce are invited to inform us of any corrections or additions to their entries. In particular there is now the facility for a short summary of services to be added to each business entry. Please advise us of such changes by email only of such changes as you may require.

We also would encourage any member who is involved with other groups in our community to get involved with the community aspect of the site.

Special Olympics 2003

Karl Harte and Kenny Grant represented the Chamber of Commerce at a meeting on 15 October 2002 to discuss the contribution which could be made by local businesses to the success of the 2003 Special Olympics.

The emphasis was on helping to recruit the 30,000 volunteers this huge event will require. Two ways in which employers could help were:

  • to invite representatives of the Games to make presentations to staff,
  • and to support staff volunteers by matching or "topping up" leave taken during the games.

Should you wish to help in any way, please contact the Chamber committee, or the Games organisers directly (see web site below).
