Ok fair enough apology accepted,
I still think its relevant here as it is local history and is actually on the leaving cert course (well it was when I did it)
even if you view it as extremist,
What do you think of Peader Bates book on the 1798 rebellion in fingal, should that be banned from publicaton because it provides a historical account of so called "extremist" activities? |

| For any of you with no social life and a curiosity in History there is a 2 hour documentary on the bombing of Dresden at 9pm on the History channel tonight (just thought it might be topical). |

There was also a full pictorial on the BBC website showing the Easter Rising commemorations in Dublin.
Clearly the Brits aren't overly offended.

I have never read Peadar Bates' book and did not study a leaving certificate.
The BBC is well known for being a leftist mouthpiece, full of champagne socialists. I wouldn't think their endorsement stands for much. |

Leftist mouthpieces? Champagne Socialism?
Woo hoo, this forum is really on the cutting edge of political thought !
Who cares about the burgers in Keelings. Let?s all meet in a smoke filled cellar for some serious debate.
I?ll bring the beer and some light contraband.

the koran tones present
please sing this tune to the air of sean south from garryowen
let me introduce you to Mohammed atta from cairo
It was on a clear September morn when the shade of night was gone
And a plane load of volunteers approached manhattan town.
There were men from dubai and from Syria, saudai and iraq
But the leader was an Egyptian man called Mohammed Atta.
And as they moved across the sky up to those famous towers.
They scorned the danger they would meet, the fate that lay in store (18 virgins)
They were fighting for Osama and they wernt on their own.
And the foremost of this gallant band was atta from cairo.
With their 767 primed a hail of death did pour.
But before that awfull morn was past six men lay as cold as stone
There was one from near Riyadh and one form cairo.
No more he?ll hear the oil wells pump near basra
For he fell beneath an infidels sky brave olomari by his side
He has gone to join that gallant band of fasha , suqami and alnami
Another matyr for islam , mohammed atta
new single released 28th march 2008 , album 1st april including the following classics armoured cars and us marines, my four oil fields , some say the devil is dead and buried down in basra

My friend. Two wrongs don't make a right. You may believe in the above as much as the original poster but this is not the place for either.
I'm very fond of this board and enjoy reading about the local food, the road in and out of the village, the chip shop and Keeling's. I don't think extreme politics or history is relevant.
What has any reader or poster to gain from these topics? |

Well this is a local community website and much of this topic at the start at least was about local history. I am quiet interested in local history and if anyone wants to throw in bits about the ship wreck off Lambay (The Talyor I think)or the barracks down by the petrol station or did they really hang people down by the bridge over the rail way lines?
I for one think this is a perfect spot for such topics in between the burgers skangers and break ins and I don't think its for you T to decide other wise, I hate censorship. |
