Mass on Sunday
Why do we only have one mass on Sundays? Easter Sunday was very unpleasant and not the best place for kids it, was the same at Christmas. With a growing population would it not make sense to have a second mass?

A legacy of reduced vocations and the retirement of elderly clergy Derek .

Mass was also held on Saturday evening at 9pm, Easter vigil. But I do agree,it's unpleasent for young families and the elderly, stuffing everyone into the church for one mass, especially on such an important day in the catholic calender!!!
Fr. whats his name?? dosen't cater for young children which is a shame.
Not very Christian of me but he could be a little more friendly, be a little less bossy & stuffy and not go on about the collection plates.

God, I'll go straight to hell for that comment.

Must go to confession and tell him what I said about him, hehe

Midsomerwhatever, Why not bring the kids to mass? When they grow up they can make ther own choices on faith and more the important issues like which broadband supplier to use.

Derekm,

My kids will make their own choices BEFORE they have been brainwashed. If you indocrinate your kids with the tenents of cannibalism and vampirism, they will not be able to make informed choices when old enough. What other important issues do you think will be brought up in church? How much adoration to bestow on the big sky fairy?

You know Mid if you believe we are all just a bunch of bunnies hoping around a field feeling the the wind rain and sun on our faces, then that's cool. But young adults often go looking for something more in their lives especially when they realize their hip cool best friend parents are full of shit. I'm going to introduce mine to a nice safe established religion and hope they don't end up in a compound somewhere.

As a bye the way I have been to several funerals in an official capacity and religion can really help people at a very traumatic time.
