Ireland has reaped so much benefit (?) from the EU that it would be dishonest to vote NO....

Just my opinion.....

Defintely NO because there has been absolutely no clarification from either the government or pro treaty groups to explain exactly what the significance of voting yes to the treaty is for Ireland. All I have seen or heard are snappy sound bites such as ' voting yes is good for business' or Bertie saying that we would have to be insane to vote no. Well you would have to be insane to vote for something that you don't understand.
I have tried to make some sense of the treaty and it's euro speak gobbledeegook ! 80% of the Irish electorate have no idea as to what it's about either and that's not surprising if you read any of the document itself.
It's not anti european to vote NO - but I feel that it's fundamentally wrong to vote yes to something that you do not fully understand or appreciate the ramifications of a pro vote.

Thats my thinking too Buzza, and the fact that we have a vote to say no means a hell of a lot.

I posted a link to a video clip and its worth watching if you have the time
I did'nt see it sll, but I did love the bit where the british MEP speaks out against the new treaty.

Some good reading on MEP Derossa and our Greenparty and the NWO..OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

interesting times my friends...

Buzza,

My view would be that if you don't understand what you're voting for, then you should abstain from voting at all.

There is quite a bit of stuff around the internet on the subject. I prefer to do my own research - in that way I don't get vested interests points of view.

For a quick overview though, this link is a good start.

I agree Vlad, if you don't understand it then don't vote or spoil your vote.

I haven't decided yet but traditionally I'm pro Europe.

Vlad I;m reading the link you left Thanks, and I'm voting no because of this and some other
" to be decided" after our treay vote of yes or no

Citizens? Initiative
The Lisbon Treaty proposes that a citizens? initiative would allow for at least one million citizens from a significant number of Member States to ask the Commission to bring forward proposals on a particular issue. The Commission would be obliged to consider the proposal. The details of how this would operate have yet to be decided.

To vote yes IMO would be voting blind and a No vote would make no changes, and they can then come back at a later stage when things are more clear and take a vote... Ihope I'm making sense "S"
