Hi GHD,
Your right on the parking in this estate, its cars parked everywhere and the further up the road seems to be worse.
Just wait until the neighbours across the road move in, if they have as many cars, there wont be room for everyone.
I always wondered why they didnt actually make drives and decided for the shared parking, it takes up the same amount of space...

Its pretty much a free for all. cars park all over the place and already the opposite side of the road is full of cars. When these people move in I'm not sure where they will get parking.
I'm wondering if Kinane are planning on lining out spaces in each area, similar to other developement that have shared parking. Maybe they could also add a number to each space and have additional Visitor spaces in each bay. This way everyone is guaranteed their own space and Vistor spaces can be taken on first come first served basis. |

I agree with claned, i think kinane should insert lines and number each one to each house, when we were buying our house, we were told it was 1.5 spots to each hous !!! like what is .5 of a car ?? you should at least get 6 cars in each bay, if people tightened up the space between the cars, ( there is usually 3 foot between each parked car ) . I certainly dont want to think about what will happen when the people move in accross the road.
Kinane should have thought out a better parking situation, considering most people have at the min 2 cars per household. What use is that green space to peole at the end of each bay ! |

I think the jury is still out until the development is finished. It is a bit messy at the moment especially with outside contractors parking as well.
We were told that some adjustments could be made at the end of works to facilitate more spaces if necessary.
With regard to Beverton Meadows:
1) Does anyone know when it's scheduled to finish?
2) I see Eircom were pulling lines in on Wednesday. Does this mean we will be entering the 20th century soon with a phone line and broadband? Has anyone else found another decent provider, NTL, etc.?
3) Is everyone having the same problems with Fingal ad bins? Never know when they're going to collect.

I think what you mention about the contractors is right, but only during the day. At night there is still a hassle and a lot of cars parking across the road. All the contractors are gone by this stage!
It'd be interesting to see what they could do about more spaces, something to keep hassling them about i guess!
AS for your questions:
1)Have no idea, but at the rate Kinane builds, and the number that have to be built, I'd say it would be another 2/3 years! The only thing is once they move further back, they might complete / add extra spaces to the front as its pretty much finished!!
2)Unfortunately UPC are not in the area only via MMDS :( The electrican told me that they hooked the tv up to the box outside the house as UPC were scheduled to have DOnabate cabled early this year but it never happened. I rang UPC recently but was told it would be a few months. Maybe thats the work thats happening on Turvey Avenue next week when its closed??
Because of this we went with BT, 3 months later still waiting for Eircom to connect us but good to hear we might get somewhere soon...
3) We had a lot of hassle to get our bins of fingal, but since getting them we only put them out once, actually this morning, and green was taken before we got up, and brown was gone before lunch! |

Hi All,
we were only thinking the other day we need to get a phone line in as the reception on mobiles in the house is non existant ,I'm sure our neigbours can hear our conversations at times, seen as we have to stand outside, or is it just us ? !! Ha !
As for the parking situation, its terrible that you can't park outside your own house after paying so much for the property ! thats why I think the lines and numbering would benefit everyone !
I agree that the housing estate might take a little longer than the two years. Although I was told that Kinane had 16 more houses for sale and has sold 13 of them, but they are taking their time building alright.
Who are the best ones to go for the Bins as we have to decide who we are getting too ? any suggestions ?? |
