O2 phone signal
Hi everyone.

I recently became a o2 phone customer and discovered unfortunatly that the phone reception in Donabate and Portrane is terrible.. Was wondering if I am the only one with a crap phone signal??

Rang o2 and they say that there are no problems in Donabate and that Donabate has full coverage including Portrane??

If anyone can shed some light on the problem, that would be great.. Thanks

O2 phone signal
O2 signal is very hit and miss down here. The main mast is in the village on top of the post office and is not very high, and a smaller one is out on a house aerial pole near Kilcrea. As far as I know, Portrane is covered from a mast over near Rush.

O2 phone signal
I was on O2 till I moved to Donabate. I could get no signal unless I went into the front garden. It did sometimes work occasionally upstairs up against the window. I know of 8 people who changed networks. I complained to O2 and was told three times that the area had been tested and there was no problem. In the end I phoned them and asked to close my account. I was on a monthly contract and had been for years. She asked me if I would like to go onto a differnt contract as the one I had was a very "old" one. She offered me monthly contracts that were 3 times the price! I pointed out that I wanted to close my account not change my tariff. She then said I was due an upgrade on my phone. I once again explained that a new phone would not get me a better coverage/signal. GGGrrrggghhhh! She was not listening or was rather stupid. I eventually went to "3". Coverage is excellent - never had a problem. Some of my relatives went onto meteor and vodaphone.

O2 phone signal
My work phone was on Vodafone up to about six months ago. Then the contract was changed to O2. The reception is terrible. If I want to make a work call, I have to stand in the front garden. I'm up the top of the Beaverstown Road.

If I leave the phone on the window sill, it will pick up a signal. Once it rings, I have to sprint for the front door. It's terrible.

I complained in work and it was passed on to O2, but obviously nothing has happened to improve it.

i was talking to someone who worked in o2 a good few months back about the terrible coverage in donabate. they said they know all about it but arent going to upgrade the masts at this stage cos its not financially viable.

so it looks like they arent bothered missing out on donabate custom. i moved from o2 a few months ago to vodafone and have gone from 1 bar (out of 5) to 5 bars of coverage constantly.

I switched to vodafone; it's marginally better than o2. I'd try 3 first.

O2 phone signal
I was on 02 til I moved to Donabate 6 years ago. 6 members of my family and I have had to switch to another network because the reception was so bad. It flatlined most of the time and I couldnt make or recieve calls.
I know a handful of other people in Donabate on o2 who have to go outside to make or recieve a call and want to switch but cant because its a work phone.
Last summer I very briefly moved back to o2 thinking the situation might have changed but it was bad as ever and switched again.

Meteor is best for donabate and portrane... O2 is absolute crap...
If your with O2 and can ditch them, then your better off ditching them...
