| Hi, anyone be able to recommend a nice pub or two in Swords please. For a Friday or Saturday night type place. Nothing too young or too loud preferably. We're talking 30's - 40's type age group. Thanking you. |

| Plenty. The Cock is a good spot with good mix. Pound is a nice pub. Hawthorn is also nice if you just want a few pints and a chat. Just avoid wrights! |

| I agree with OldMan. Like the Cock Tavern, nice crowd, older up the front, younger towards the back and upstairs, and barmen efficient and friendly. Dont like the main Wrights but do like the wine bar later on in the night/early morning. Nice and relaxed, good music and a nice crowd. |

| Thanks guys. So the Cock Tavern sounds like the safest bet. Also good to have the other couple mentioned as a back up. And duely noted to avoid Wrights Main bar. Great, will give it a go so. Bring on the weekend :-) |

When you say:
"Also good to have the other couple mentioned as a back up."
is it code language for something?

ejb, no code intended, my innocence showing now because not too sure what double meaning you're insinuating now :-) |

The Cock would also be my first choice but it can be tough to get a table if you aren't there early.
I really like the Whisky Bar at the Slaughtered Lamb; it has a great retro feel to it and you can get a really nice pint. Their Stella is very good, as is the Guinness...
I also like Wrights wine bar for it's great decor and music. I was at a private party there recently and had a blast! The prosecco was well-presented, reasonably priced and oh so bubbly. |
