| Beverton~ Gallery Walk-through |
|
Hi All
I just read in the North County Leader that agreement has been reached to open the walkway between Beverton and the Gallery.
This is great news for those of us who will now be able to avoid walking to the train station via the death trap that is Turvey Avenue (also known as the Great Wall)...
What I didn't get was a date; has anyone more information on this very welcome news? |

That's interesting. If Beverton have this access, it will mean the Gallery have access to Beverton's big green space. So probably win / win.
However, while I can see the merit in having the walkway but I think there's been some bad planning by Fingal County Council as I think the walkway and access should have been a bit wider.
And I completly agree with you, the Turvey walk where the footpath disappears is extremly dangerous. How the hell was planning permission given to Beverton without such a footpath?

| I have heard the residents of The Gallery were not consulted on this development. Hard to see what they would benefit from opening up a private gate accessed property in this manner. |

But don't the Gallery pay a private management fee. Surely that means they don't have to open it up for public access?
I see Lambay's point.
Beverton's gripe (which I agree is valid) should be with Fingal for screwing up on the planning as usual.

| I understand why Beverton would like the shortcut however population of an estate does not convey special status or higher rights. Is there not also a route from Beverton to the village that emerges at the Beaverstown/Portrane Road Junction? |

| Funny you should bring that up Lambay. Has anyone mentioned this to the folks living in Ballisk? My understanding is that their gate, which is locked and unlocked by someone paid by FCC isn't legal and never was... |
