Violence In St Ita's

Ok the heading is a bit shocking but so is the attached report, I didn't realize St. Ita's hosted violent patients, lets hear it for the staff who live in our neighbourhood.

The Dundrum facility is a secure environment with staff trained to deal with difficult and violent behaviour. So no danger to the community.

Because of the type of patient St Ita's, and indeed any other mental health facility, does treat people who may be violent Dub. It is an unfortunate reality that staff working with behaviourally disturbed patients are often at risk and are injured in the course of their work. Staff are however, trained to manage these behaviours so it doesn't happen too often.

Fair enough Yummy, it did say that on occasions things became to much for staff and they had to get the police in wearing riot gear and employ security firms to assist the staff, the report did not say which facilities needed to do this.

Just as well its only shooting stars tonight and not a full moon.
